@tuseroni 1. I was talking about charity as well as tax. Peter Singer does reasonably well? writing books. He can afford 20% of his income to go to charity, I can't. 2. All I'm describing is a progressive taxation system, higher brackets of personal income should pay higher percentages, with no bracket exceeding, say, 40-45%. There isn't a large enough pool of state resources to compete globally otherwise. Pretty much every western democracy has progressive income tax.

@mcnesta80 i would disagree, a person is entitled to their fair due, if they pay the same portion of their income in taxes as anyone else, that is fair. to tax? them at a higher percentage of their income is as unfair as taxing them a lower percentage. sure they will have more money left over than a poorer person but they will also be spending more money in taxes than a poorer person so it is fair.

I don't see it working just because rich people [generally] will be greedy - but I hope it does have an impact on how your economy functions. Sure, my province in Canada does provide us with pretty good assistance when we need it, but it is by no means perfect.

@hamnose College or University on the other hand, is not free. However, we have a program offered by Service Canada that will help pay for most of your tuition for two years if you are eligible. I am in the process for applying for this, so I am unsure of the exact amount of coverage they offer but I do believe they pay about 80% of your tuition, and provide you with? a small paycheck every two weeks for living expenses - none of which is expected to be payed back.

We spend our tax dollars to provide a completely free high school education, and as of recently, even our? text books are given to us at the beginning of the year. That's just how I've always known school to be. I never really realized that people elsewhere needed to pay just to finish high school. To be honest, I don't think I'll ever understand why they need to.

@KingMKLA You're thinking of something else. Financial aid is not a loan. And of course it is based on income, not race. The school's financial aid office loves to give out loans, don't listen to them. There are 3 grants. You have to fill out the application (FAFSA) before Mar 2? for the fall semester. BTW even if you're above median income you'll probably still get some money. I don't mean to be rude I just hate to see you feeding that troll ibsd's rage and I want to inform people.

The maximum financial aid benefit is just under $6,000 for 2 semesters. That helps but it doesn't always cover tuition. I remember when states had really low tuition and welfare was easy to scam but that was like in the 70's. So how did you get a free? education?

It is totally within reason for this to be true, but? with a different conclusion. I believe that humans have some air-tech (regardless where they got it/how they built it). This craft is silent but are still undergoing refinements.
